Core Problem

The country lacks adequate community parks or fields that Kalabash Academy or the local population has access to, and this is a major hurdle for local youth to have a safe place to practice, play and gather.

The Solution

The facility project represents more than just a structure; it gives Kalabash Academy and its student-athletes a place to call their own. A place to safely practice, without restrictions; a place to gather and celebrate the power of sport to unite communities, and most importantly, a place to learn and work hard towards the mission of gaining scholarship towards higher education and the future of each beneficiary.

About The Capital Project

The long-term goal of Kalabash Academy has always been a social enterprise system where the community, in a sliding scale structure, can use the facilities of the academy, including the classrooms, pitches and flex spaces. This would allow the organization to be self-sufficient in operation and employ and engage the local community.

The capital project allows Kalabash Academy to be self-sufficient in operation. The social enterprise structure will help Kalabash Academy generate the revenue it needs to continue to allow student-athletes to attend The Academy free of charge, while employing and engaging the local community.
